Description:
A Food Packet, Long Range Patrol, or LRP, we do not know who made the ration or the exact year but estimate it to be from the 1980's. This ration was designed to feed one soldier for one day under a limited calorie diet on long range patrols and recon missions, at around 1500 calories per LRP, Although typically two were eaten per day. This ration has a freeze dried main to save on weight, and ensure viability at cold temperatures.
